In September, Zach Kassian broke Sam Gagner’s jaw with a slash. Kassian was suspended and missed the first Oilers-Canucks game of the year. The Oilers and Canucks played on December 13 in Vancouver. Here’s what the shift chart from that game looked like.

Isn’t that curious, how Kassian tended to come on the ice just after Gazdic had left. It’s not a smoking gun – maybe the matchup just never clicked – but it seems sort of strange that a third and fourth line never came head to head in a game that was obviously never in doubt. They didn’t appear on the ice together until the final minute, at which point Rule 46.22 applied.

Definitely something to watch for tonight.

In your legal opinion, should Eberle be charged for the deliberate Bobby Clarke on Richardson?
