Third game in four nights, last part of a back-to-back plus missing all of 4, 83 and 89 so I’m not going to get too upset over this result.

The Oilers were having a great third period up until the first Flames goal and Kipper saved Cgy with two tremendous PP saves on first 77 and then 13. Dubnyk played well, too, but didn’t have to make his biggest saves until the Flames had already taken the lead.

The only major quibble I have is Renney should have switched 91-23 around in order to try and utilize the skills of the 14-93 combo. Sure, they missed 4 on their left side but 23 didn’t provide much help and maybe a change could have been in order.

77 continued his strong start and 5 had another great game up until the game-winning goal when he for some reason tried to stop the puck with Dubnyk behind him in perfect position. It caroomed to the right and and there was the game.

6 looked rusty out of the gate – pun intended – and 44 had another strong game.
