Wow, by the eye I would have thought Vandermeer would come out looking way worse than that.

Well, I guess you can attribute some of it to having Marleau/Thornton/Heatley as his three most common forward opponents, but yikes, that’s a curb stomping for Horcoff.

And one of the perils of the chance metric rears its head, Cogliano gets credit for a chance on the Eberle shortie because Horcoff got off the ice after his outlet pass. It’ll even out, over time, but not the best game for him to miss a chance for on…

Gagner line didn’t show very well either. A lot of time against San Jose’s no names without much to show for it… just a terrible game all around, maybe Renney forgot to let the strength coach know the season started, again.

Not often you get to see the road coach get his matchups all the time.

I guess that’s the downfall to rolling your lines, it’s easier for the other team to match.

I love that Strudwick got more ES time than Smid and Foster.

2 just made theĀ ugliestĀ mistakes and looked lazy and unable in doing so.

The main thought I had about during this game – well besides how much you dread watching this team try and kill a penalty – is how fucking stupid it was to have 10 saddled with 91-14 and trying to play against the Sharks Easter Line.

Just not sensible unless you’re looking for another lottery pick.

Thanks again for this Dennis. I’m always surprised at how close things are, but once again the ST just look terrible. Twice as much PP time but fewer chances. It’s a disturbing trend.
