Liveblogging the Lottery

TSN has thirty minutes of basically empty air time to fill with a thirty second announcement, with a dead eyed Steve Tambellini certain to be called upon for comment? And the fleeting possibility of a Mirtle sighting, as he covers the event for his corporate masters? Why yes, there will be a liveblog. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. EST. As Tambo says:
“Is there a chance that maybe you don’t get the first pick? Yeah, but I think it works out to something like a 48.2 per cent chance that we retain the first overall pick. It’s in our favour.
Oilermath: a 48.2% chance favours you.

Hey, somebody’s gotta keep Vegas in business.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (deep breath) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
*SOB*
Sometimes you are fucking hilarious. Oilermath indeed.
Hey, you’ve figured out why Tambellini is so impressed with this team! If we can just get our scoring chance rates above .482, we’re golden! Much easier mountain to climb.
I’m pretty sure he meant compared to any other individual team.
Sorry, I mean:
I hope to god he meant compared to any other individual team.
I have the popcorn machine all loaded up ready to go.
It beggars belief that in only an hour, all of our hopes and dreams will be either dashed or fulfilled.
It also beggars belief that I’m saying that about the Edmonton Oilers and not, you know, the South Desert Bumfuck Thrashning or something.
I’m pretty sure he meant compared to any other individual team.
I didn’t see the interview…But why would he compare his chances against individual teams chances?
Oy.
The clear implication of Tambellini’s comment relates to relative probabilities if one decontructs the actual meaning of the statement from the subtext and context.
If uses a%#^%^-retentive with regard to textual analysis, well then, Tambellini doesn’t underestand absolute probabalities.
