      Good stuff Dennis. You’re a true warrior at this point. (By warrior, I mean a conquistador played by Bob DeNiro.)

      Oilers get whipped again. They’ve been full value for the results in the second half. I think you could reasonably argue they had a first half stretch where they didn’t get many breaks, but that’s not this team right now. The performances are as bad as the scoreboard.

      Shots at evens were 25-25. Chances were 9-22? Wow.

      Not saying I disagree, I watched the game too and we got our asses kicked again, esp. at evens. But it goes to show that shots data doesn’t tell the whole tale.

      Interesting how bad the 10-18-34-6-77 group got their asses kicked by the SC metric. Even more damning is the ZoneStarts, in which this group were the most sheltered group on the squad. 12 O-zone faceoffs for everyone of them, v. 5 D-zone draws for the 3 forwards and 6 for the defenders. So -6 or -7 ZoneStarts for the lot. And yet they still got worked.

      I still find it funny how Quinn went nuts after that loss to LA coming off the ultra successful roadtrip.

      Quinn didn’t realize then that the worst was to come and that he was about to have many games where his rants would be justified.

      Bruce: Yeah I’d say it’s the anomaly but it was certainly a night where SOG didn’t sync with the flow of the play.

      DB: I called Quinn on it at the time and I thought he picked the wrong time to go off.

      I am still holding out hope that MacT’s just taking a little bit of a rest and he’ll be back behind the bench come October.

      I can’t see any reason why Quinn should return; be it to helm a young team in another year of rebuilding or a team trying to make the playoffs.

      The game has passed it by and it might have a long time ago for that matter.
