      Two games in a row where young Theo has held his own. On the road too.

      This game is encouraging for the rest of the stretch. Outplaying Phoenix is one thing, but taking it to San Jose the next night on the B2B is impressive. Plus, the fact that we’ve got Strudwick and Peckham in the line-up each night satisfies much of the “grit” quotient that this team may or may not have been lacking. Still, I’d imagine watching Peckham tool Lemieux made all the guys on the bench smile.

      Looking at this, no joke, is the first time this entire season I’ve thought that the Oilers might actually make the playoffs. One game is one game, but being anywhere near the Sharks in terms of chances, in SJ, in Pt2 of a B2B, is impressive and basically not doable by a crap team.

      Looks like they’re being passed by LA and the BJs, but they might still squeeze in.

      Matt: The top four are solid and I’ll throw in Dal and Van as well. That leaves Edm, Min, CBJ and Ana for the last two spots.

      Oilers have six games combined left against those three teams and four of them are at Rexall; make that a seven and four breakdown if you count the Kings in the mix.

      The Oilers keep hanging around and, yes, a game like this at SJ all things considered has to be considered;) close to a moral victory and at the very least a confidence builder.
