The EV chances actually finished at 12-11 for Minny but the story for this night was the Oilers making all the biggest mistakes.

      - 71 gets beaten bad on the 1-0 goal and then 37 compounds the mistakes by running towards the fire
      - 18 shows zero hustle on the 2-1 goal
      - 18 throws a pass into 44′s skates on the 3-1 goal.
      - 26 shows why he doesn’t play defense and then 37 goes to the wrong side again on the 4-1 goal.

Honestly, we could have used a save by Roli on perhaps the second or third Wild goals but it’s not like it would’ve made a great difference. As I keep saying the main thing I’ve noticed is where the Oilers give up their chances and it’s from the slot. When luminaries like Craig Weller are camping out in the slot and shooting away then you know that our soft spots are visible enough for everyone to both indentify and exploit.

Another rough night for Smid by my metric and it’s funny how these things work but Reddox scores the lone goal and he also ends up 7/3 on the night.

I had Souray down as the goat for the 3-1 goal, but thinking about it (goddamn I wish I’d taped it) yeah, that was on 18, wasn’t it.

Only two scoring chances against Visnovsky. . . But he was sure driving the bus on one of them.

Not so sure, Moreau was to blame on that pass. Souray gave him no target, didn’t have his stick on the ice . . . Both of them to blame, how about that?

And don’t you mean 51 showed zero hustle on the second goal? Stinkiest backcheck of the year.

Well, in the top five, at least.

Of course, 18 started it all off with a stinky pass in the offensive zone.
